What to know before visiting your local recycling centers:

  • “Buy-back” items are recyclables that centers purchase from customers.
  • “Non buy-back” items are recyclables that centers will accept without reimbursement.
  • All containers should be rinsed.
  • Boxes should be flattened.

McLean County Recycling Centers

Center: Midwest Fiber, 422 White Oak Rd., Normal, 309-452-0064
Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:30 am–4:30 pm
Non buy-back items: Cardboard, newspaper, office paper, plastic bottles, tin cans, and glass* at their 24-hour drop box for residents. Will accept electronics for recycling from businesses.

*Not glass alone — must be mixed with other materials.

Buy-back items:  Aluminum cans (only until 2:30 pm)Shredding service available

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–3 pm; and Saturday 8 am–11 am

Hours: 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, 8 am–12 pm
Non buy-back items: 1-5 & 7 plastic containers, newspapers, magazines, phonebooks, steel cans, aluminum, cans, glass containers, some appliances, cardboard, car batteries.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 6 am–5 pm, Saturday 8 am–12 pm
Non buy-back items: Pallets, tree and brush wood and new construction debris that is not treated
