EcoAction Summer Camp

SAMSUNGWANTED: Kids who want to make our environment a better place!  This program is for students in 6th-10th grade who don’t mind a little heat and hard work.

Co-sponsored by the Ecology Action Center and Normal Parks & Recreation, this camp will explore some of McLean County’s environmental challenges.  We’ll improve water quality in our creeks by educating citizens about storm water run-off issues and spray painting messages by storm drains, participate in hands-on recycling projects, visit Midwest Fibers recycling facility, learn about native plants, and more.   We’ll visit Sugar Grove Nature Center, Lake Bloomington, and a maybe even a local swimming pool.

Adventurous students registering for this camp should be prepared to be hot, get wet, work hard, and have a fabulous time actively helping the world around us become a better place!

This camp runs from July 8-12, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.  Campers will meet at the EAC and be transported each day to an exciting destination.  Registration fee is $90.

Registration for this program is through the Town of Normal Parks and Recreation Department.  Open enrollment for Normal residents begins on May 6, and non-residents may register starting May 13.  Go to www.normalparks.org for information.  The camp’s activity code is #153640-12.  For more information, please call Kris Hall at the EAC at (309) 454-3169.
