Commercial Recycling

What to know before visiting your local recycling centers:

  • "Buy-back" items are recyclables that centers purchase from customers.
  • "Non Buy-back" items are recyclables that centers will accept without reimbursement.
  • All containers should be rinsed.
  • Boxes should be flattened.

McLean County Recycling Centers

Center: Midwest Fiber, 422 White Oak Rd., Normal, 309-452-0064
Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 4:30pm
Non buy-back items: Cardboard, newspaper, office paper
Buy-back items: (only until 2:30pm) Aluminum cans. Shredding service available.
Center: Morris Tick, 501 E. Stewart St., Bloomington, 309-828-6084
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 3:00 pm; and Saturday 8am – 11am
Non buy-back items: None
Buy-back items: Aluminum, copper, brass, iron, steel
Center: Ridgeview Recycling, 108 ½ S. Grove St., P.O. Box 447, Colfax, 309-723-3171
Hours: 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, 8am – 12pm
Non buy-back items: 1-5 & 7 plastic containers, newspapers, magazines, phonebooks, steel cans, aluminum, cans, glass containers, some appliances, cardboard, car batteries.
Buy-back items: None
Center: Twin City Wood Recycling, 1606 W. Oakland Avenue, Bloomington, 309-827-9663
Hours: Monday – Friday, 6am – 5pm; and Saturday 8am – 12pm
Non buy-back items: Pallets, tree and brush wood and new construction debris that is not treated
Buy-back items: None

Specialty Recycling Service Providers

Center: Iron Mountain, 310 S. Roosevelt Ave., Bloomington, 309-454-1058
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7am – 2pm
Non buy-back items: Personal documents are accepted for a customer fee. Paper documents are accepted from individual residents and businesses. The documents are shredded and then recycled.
Buy-back items: None
