About The ProjectThe Ecology Action Center was awarded a grant from the Lumpkin Family Foundation to reach out to municipalities in Downstate/Central Illinois as they develop the education and outreach components of their Phase II Stormwater Management Programs. As an environmental education organization, we understand the importance of effective public education programs in solving environmental problems. We also understand the municipal stormwater manager’s need for education, support and resources in planning education and outreach strategies. The project’s goals are to assist communities in creating partnerships for collaboration in implementing stormwater education and outreach programs, and to provide guidance in developing successful, effective programs based on social marketing strategies.
