Achieving Environmental Sustainability in Your Organization

Professional Networking Workshop

This workshop is designed to facilitate networking among colleagues and community partners to encourage sharing of information, ideas, and experiences in developing programs that will help to move your organization to a more environmentally sustainable future. People who should attend include government officials, planners, institutional leaders, facility managers, and environmental education organizations.

Participants will hear about actions major Central Illinois organizations are taking to become more environmentally sustainable, and will learn how to improve their own organization's sustainability. Scheduled presenters include Mercy Davison, Normal's Town Planner; Bruce Boswell, Unit 5 School District's Energy Manager; Kerry Satterwhite, Bloomington's Superintendent of Golf Course Maintenance; Chuck Scott, Illinois State University's Director of Facility Management; and Rob Widmer, Vice President of Business Services at Heartland Community College.

Keynote Luncheon Presentation

The keynote presenter is Mary Rehwald, an internationally known speaker and expert in The Natural Step - a movement in creating sustainability in our communties. More information here.

Concurrent Professional Networking Workshop

Stormwater Education and Outreach for Phase II communities is also being held in IWU’s Memorial Center, and we encourage you to send an appropriate representative from your organization to each workshop.
