Meet Your Green Neighbor

Saturday, April 12
10-12 a.m. in the Davidson Room of the IWU Memorial Center

In cooperation with the Illinois Sustainable Living and Wellness Expo, Imagine Green Bloomington/Normal entitled, MEET YOUR GREEN NEIGHBORS. The program will feature interactive presentations and display tables. Featured will be green teams of Bloomington Junior High, Brigham, Sugar Creek, and Chiddix schools. Others featured will be five organizations in B/N —Bill’s Key and Lock, HorizonWind, Children & Elders Forest, and Waiting Room Records, and Unit 5 Maintenance that are practicing sustainability. There will a PowerPoint presentation on the goals of Imagine Green. There will be interactive groups focusing on three green action items: Earth Hour (one hour in which the lights go out; already done March 29, 2008, 8-9 p.m.; repeated next spring); Pedestrian and Bike Friendly Paths, and Sustainable Local Businesses.

Imagine Green Bloomington/Normal is a newly formed group promoting sustainability throughout our community through networking, education, and action. We sponsored Earth Hour on March 29, when many organizations and homes turned off lights and appliances for one hour from 8-9 p.m. For more information check out:
