Sustainable Gourmet
"Good food, good company, good cause!"

The first Sustainable Gourmet dinner was held in September 2006 at the Vrooman Mansion and was a huge success. Diners enjoyed a seven course gourmet meal, musical entertainment, and a silent auction of unique local items. The meal highlighted the idea that locally-grown, sustainable, and organic food can be elegant and gourmet.
Since then we have been holding Sustainable Gourmet Events every year. In 2008 we featured hors d'oeurves and a locally made wine tasting. Some of the gourmet dishes included in past menus were crab crostinis, roasted butternut squash and spinach salad, mushroom and leek bisque, lime-basil sorbet, autumn stuffed pork loin with plum sauce, rice pilaf, and pumpkin cheesecake.
